Alabama

Alabama is set to make another run for the championship after changes in the coaching crew have been made. This will be Alabama’s 6th appearance in Saban's tenure. Tua Tagovailoa will be leading the offence. Tua has a record throw of 3,966 yards and 43 touchdowns in his first year. Najee Harris is set for a breakout season to replace Damien Harris and Joss Jacobs at the no 1 running back.

Clemson

Clemson is still in good shape to retain their championship come this season. Quarterback Trevor Lawrence, surrounded by big threat receivers like Tee Higgins and Justyn Ross and running back Travis Etienne in the backfield, Clemson is set to be the best in college football. Although Clemson will be missing key players, this will not affect their stand as Brent Venables keeps developing new talents in football.

Georgia

Coach Kirby is putting together a strong team to run for the 2019 -2020 national title with the return of Quarterback Jake Fromm with a record of 2,749 and 30 touchdowns supported by the best offensive line. However, their greatest challenge might come from the offence which is centred on new play-caller James Coley.

Michigan

Michigan’s Wolverine has a strong edge at quarterback with Shea Patterson. The odds seem to be in favour of Michigan winning the division and also securing a place in the CFB playoff in 2019. The Play-calling will be handled by Josh Gattis who is a first-time offensive coordinator.

Ohio State

Ohio State lines up a strong defensive line anchored by Chase Young, Tyreke Smith, Jonathan Cooper and Zach Harrison. Robert Landers, Davon Hamilton, Jashon Cornell and Tomy Togiai will be holding up the interior in this season’s match line-up.

Oklahoma

Oklahoma will be making the third consecutive appearance in the CFB Playoff. Although there’s still work to be done, however, the team is not likely to be affected by Alabama’s transfer of Jalen Hurts who accounted for 7,602 yards while with Crimson Tide. Oklahoma’s supporting cast filled with playmakers Sermon and Kennedy Brooks who had a combined total run of 2,003 yards last season.

LSU

With the assistance of Coach Ed Orgeron and his assistant, they have been able to implement more RPO looks. Quarterback Joe Burrow is just the best man for this offence with a record throwing for 2,894 yards and 16 touchdowns while still a freshman.

Florida

Florida’s Gators were in the nation’s top college football team last season. Led by Coach Mullen to a 10-3 win, 41- 15 win against Michigan in the Peach Bowl. However, their last turnaround fall can be blamed on quarterback Feleipe Franks who had a record 2,457 yards and 24 touchdowns and also rushed for 350 yards with 7 scores.

Notre Dame

Notre Dame’s Fighting Irish are hoping to replace some of their key players and also retain enough talents to make an attempt at winning the CFB playoff. The team will be favoured in 10 of its 12 matchups with Quarterback Ian Book taking over the starting from Brandon Wimbush and instrumental in their 12 -1 victory. Book made a total throw of 2,628 yards and 19 touchdowns and 4 scores.

Texas A&M

Texas A&M's buy over of Jimbo Fisher to College station is quite laudable. Texas A&M finished 9-4 last fall, a victory over LSU for the first time since joining the SEC and a dominant win over NC State in the Gator Bowl. This year, T&M will be faced with a tough schedule featuring matchup against the Athlon's projected top three teams which are Alabama, Clemson and Georgia.

Texas

Under Coach Tom's second year in Austin, Texas made tremendous progress. Their goal for this year is to win the Big 12 title and also earn a place in the CFB Playoff. Although both goals are achievable, there still remains much to be achieved in terms of working on the team. Quarterback Sam Ehlinger alone accounted for 41 overall touchdowns last season and was instrumental for an offence that got them 31.1 points a game.

Washington

With Washington hosting the Ducks this season, it is believed that Washington will win the division once more in 2019. Washington had a 16.4 points a game and 4.67 yards a play last fall. Coordinator Jimmy Lake intends having Washington performing at a high level in short order with talents like Benning Pota'e and Levi Onwuzurike returning back to hold the trenches. Their offence was strong enough to earn them the Pac-12 last season, but more is needed out of this group. Jacob Eason is set to replace Jake Browning under centre with a new star in Salvon Ahmed who is ready to move to number 1 running back role.

Utah

Utah overcame an important challenge in its program by claiming the first Pac 12 South Crown. Their next important step is to win the PAC-12 and play in New Year's six bowls which are quite attainable. Utah boasts one of the best defences in college football with one of the best lines in the nation. Bradlee Anae and Tackles Leki Fotu and John Penisini set to compete for All-America honours. Manny Bowen and Francis Bernard both transferred from Penn State and BYU are set to occupy the spaces left by Chase Hansen and Cody Barton at linebacker.

Penn State

Penn State’s Nittany Lions have won not less than 9 games each for the past three seasons. To attain the status of 9 or more wins, they need to find a replacement for quarterback Trace McSorley. Freshman Sean Clifford played as McSorley’s backup last season and is also set for the starting role after the transfer of Tommy Stevens to Mississippi.

Oregon

Oregon is ranked among the best college football for 2019 with Herbert starting every game and making 29 touchdowns and 3,151 throwing yards in 2018. With a strong supporting offensive line reputed to be one of the nation's top offensives. However, their challenge lies in their receiving corps with Dillon Mitchell's early exit for the NFL leaving Jalon Redd and tight end Jacob Breeland as the top options for 2019.
